Our restaurant is located just four miles from the ocean “as the crow flies” on Route 9 in Clermont.  We are between Avalon and Sea Isle Boulevards, about half a mile south of the junction of Routes 9 and 83.  Although you may remember us near the beach in Avalon, we moved to our current and more rural setting in December 2001.

As you enter, you will see that our more spacious dining room has not changed our status as a “little” restaurant.  We have only eleven tables for dinner, seating a total of forty-five guests at once.  Our original concept was to create an intimate space that would enable us to serve only the finest foods, handmade and as fresh as possible.  Our primary goal is to make everything we serve.  That means that from your bread to your dessert, everything in your dinner will have been made on site.

The style of cuisine we offer is what we consider to be “Contemporary American.” If Traditional American was based on the cuisines of the English, French, Dutch, and German, then Contemporary American is founded on all of those plus the styles of Eastern Asia, the subcontinent of India, the Middle East, the Mediterranean, and Latin and South America.  Karen’s preparations are a blend of these influences, sometimes infusing three or more in one dish.  This method is often criticized by food writers, since the predominant school of thought in the culinary world is that a chef should find one or two remarkable flavors and unite them in a way that highlights their respective qualities.  While we respect this theory, we would like to invite you to step outside of the traditional culinary box and taste something a little more modern and exciting – flavors and dishes that you won’t find anywhere else.
